The Buske Group has provided assistance to these cities and counties by conducting a review of the franchise and PEG access fees that were paid by their respective cable companies, to determine if the past calculation and payment of franchise fees was done accurately. The results of the franchise fee reviews helped to identify any discrepancies in past payments, and in some instances, to plan adjustments in future franchise agreement language. In every case, The Buske Group's goal was to help assure that the jurisdiction received the full amount of franchise fee revenue to which it was entitled.
In a number of cases, the amount of underpaid franchise fees discovered significantly exceeded the cost to conduct the review.
